A sculpture placed on a site is a marker declaring that the space surrounding it is unique and special and dedicated to the celebration of being extraordinary. Modern abstract sculptures uplift the spirit and remind us that we are here to do great things. They serve no other purpose.

I love to see sculptures in a garden, on a front lawn and visible from the road, or in the backyard and visible from the patio or the living room.

Among my favorite man-made large sculptures are Stonehenge, the Eiffel Tower, the St. Louis Arch, the Washington Monument, the Golden Gate Bridge and the Pyramids of Egypt. The Milwaukee Art Museum is a building that incorporates sculpture in its design. The best of architecture is sculptural in quality.
